BackgroundHauler/Brengun was founded in 1999 and produces scale plastic kits, resin kits and accessories, photo-etched details for kits and other accessories. This kit of the Rutan Quickie is offered in two different scales: 1/72 and 1/48. The Rutan Quickie is a lightweight single-seat taildragger aircraft of composite construction, configured with tandem wings. The Quickie was primarily designed by Burt Rutan in 1977 as a low-powered, highly efficient kit-plane. After the first flights, Tom Jewett and Gene Sheehan continued development of the Quickie to market it for home-build projects. Cross & Cockade International is a non-profit UK based group known as the First World War Aviation Historical Society that publishes their journal four times a year. They also provide a free newsletter (sign up on their website) and occasionally publish WWI themed books like the Sopwith Dolphin monograph I reviewed earlier for IPMS USA. This Journal is the sister of the US Journal, Over The Front. The Autumn 2020 journal of Cross & Cockade International features a nice color photograph of a lineup of Sopwith Camels, 1-1/2 Strutters, and DH-4s of H.2 Squadron, Royal Hellenic Naval Air Service, late 1918. This is a new publication from Duke Hawkins Books and is the fourth volume in a series of books that have been recently published highlighting modern jets. This series got its start with The Sepecat Jaguar in July 2017 and has now seen twelve books in this series published. There is also a special limited edition on the Belgian Air Force F-16 and on the Juan Carlos I Aircraft Carrier. This series of publications falls under the name of Duke Hawkins, but it is not clear exactly who Duke Hawkins is. If you check out other retail sites on this series, you can find Robert Pied and Nicolas Deboeck listed as authors, but there is not much additional information on them.
