The B-25 came into the public eye in a big way when a guy named Doolittle lead an attack on Japan not long after Pearl Harbor giving America a major morale boost.

This year Airfix released a new kit of the C/D version of the Mitchell and it looks like a very nice kit.

Scale Aircraft Conversions continues to release new landing gear sets trying to keep up with the plethora of new kits coming out from all manufacturers.

This set comes not only with replacement parts for all 3 gears in the new Airfix kit but also replacements for some of the floor and bulkheads in the nose to assist with trying to keep this bird on all three legs. The parts are direct replacements for the kit parts. There are the usual mold lines to clean up just like on the kit parts.

I’ve always painted the outside of my canopy framing the interior color first and then painted the exterior color. This ensured that the interior color showed through the canopy. But there was always one thing that bothered me a little bit, the color was always glossy. Well it must have bothered Eduard as well. Enter the new range of TFace Masks, which provides masks for the interior and exterior canopy framing.

This particular set is designed for the Bf-109F series of Eduard models, both the F-2 and F-4. The masks are made of the infamous Kabuki tape so they are flexible and very easy to use. There are instructions to show you which masks to use where, including which is the inside masks and which are the outside ones.

Tru-Color Paint was formed in 2008 by Rick Galazzo and Scott Cohen, both of whom come from extensive backgrounds in formulating paint on the commercial scale. They set out on their own to develop this paint line of solvent based paint by reformulating the old Accupaint formulation to flow better and give a more glossy appearance after drying. They currently offer over 600 colors offered with more to follow. Sets and single bottles are available and include lines for railroad, automotive, and military aircraft and armament lines.

The specific set I tested was specifically for weathering and include a sample of their masking frisket papers as well as the following colors in 1 oz. bottles:

The Tamiya Bf-109G-6 is a great model kit. It comes with its own masks but they are not pre-cut nor do they stick to the compound curves very well. Kabuki tape masks work so much better and if they are pre-cut they are the answer to the shortcomings.

New Ware Masks are the answer to those issues. This set is pre-cut on Kabuki tape and provides nearly everything that you’d want to mask off on the kit. More items are included than what is included in the kit. The masks are printed on a 39,5x111 mm sheet of Kabuki tape.

As you’d expect, masks for the canopy are provided as is the normal but unlike the kit masks, this set includes masks for the inside AND outside canopy framing. But this set doesn’t stop there. There are masks included for the spiral, the wheels, the radiator faces and all the other clear parts. The one thing not provided is masks for the wingtip lights.

Eduard has a variety of options to build their aircraft. There is the Royal Class, ProfiPack, Weekend, and Overtree options, so depending on your budget or what you like to add there is something for everyone.

The Overtree and Weekend releases do not have photoetch parts added. Many, myself included, think that the pre-painted instrument panels are worth the extra cost of these Weekend/Zoom sets.
