This figure kit is produced by Aerobonus and is designed to be used in conjunction with several Korean War aircraft subjects or as a stand-alone figure. It’s nicely cast in 1/32 scale from a medium gray resin. The casting is crisp and clean, and contains four parts which include the main body, a head and a right and left arm. Assembly was very easy and there was no flash present on any of the castings.

Representing a US Air Force mechanic on a winter flight line somewhere, the figure is dressed in typical grab found during this time period in a cold weather environment, A coat with hood and heavy gloves cover the upper torso. A baseball like cap covers the head. And the lower torso has Utility style trousers and boots.

This was a very easy figure to separate and clean up. As mentioned, there was no flash present on any of the four castings, and the only real clean up involved removal of the pour gates. A quick job handled with a razor saw.

Painting was easy and straight forward. I airbrushed the uniform Dark Green over a coat of White Tamiya primer. I painted are blackace a flesh color, the gloves brown leather and the boots black. Highlighting and shadowing was accomplished with acrylics. The entire project including preparing a base took two days with dying time.

This is fellow is part of a four figure series that includes another mechanic, also in winter gear and two Air Force pilot figures. He scales well alongside a 1/32 scale Korean War aircraft and would be a great addition to a period diorama or vignette presentation.

This was a really fun project that didn’t take much time to complete, and the quality casting provides a good starting point for painting. I really enjoyed working on this figure and will highly recommend him either to be incorporated into a diorama, to stand alongside of a period aircraft to show scale, or as a stand alone figure.
