This book contains 304 pages, 252 B&W and 28 color illustrations. It covers the development and use of rocket interceptors during WWII and the immediate post-war years. The book is broken down into 26 sections; many are only a single page. With most sections dedicated to those conceptual and built rocket interceptors of the Third Reich! In addition, American, Japanese, and Russian designs are covered.

While most engineers agreed that having a fighter that was 300plus miles per hour faster than anything else would be a formidable weapon in the arsenal, the realities of putting one to use coupled with the strain on the human body without a G-suit proved most difficult! Flying one of these was fraught with danger. A pilot could pass out from G-forces that 600MPH flight and more. The fuel used in some of these interceptors if leaking could dissolve flesh or combine and ignite in the cockpit! Even if launch and flight were successful, aiming, firing and hitting a target was nearly impossible and relied more on luck than skill. Around 125 real and proposed aircraft are covered in this book. The book is profusely illustrated, and a thorough examination of technology is contained in the pages. The varied problems that arose are well documented too. Had these issues been solved these designs could have had a severe impact on the Second World War. Technology always advances, especially in wartime, but sometimes, it outpaces the ability to adapt and use the advances to purpose. The book is well illustrated and has a great deal of information that was not readily available. This book will be of interest to the modeler, aviation historian, and Luftwaffe ’46 enthusiast. I think you will find it interesting to read.
