About the Company
Two Bobs is a limited run custom decal company based out of Fort Worth, Texas owned and operated by Mr. Bob Sanchez. Mr. Sanchez is a former enlisted Air Force engineer and has been very active in the modeling community almost all of his life. Two-Bobs decals usually sell out very well and since they’re limited run subjects they are not available for reprint.
What’s on the Sheet?
This particular sheet covers the Miramar Hornets of VMFA-225 and VMFA-232.
The aircraft covered are as followed:
- F/A-18D VMFA-225 Vikings Miramar Airbase, San Diego Ca
- F/A-18C VMFA-225 Red Devils Miramar Airbase, San Diego Ca
The decals are extremely bright, colorful, and there looks to be no carrier film. Using Microscale Industries to handle their printing needs, you are getting what you paid for with live colors, quality, and accuracy. The decal placement guide has specifically stated that Micro-Sol and Micro-Set should be used with these decals, so no objections from me.
The decals have a four-sheet instruction printout spread over two separate pages covering paint schemes, color callouts, along with decal and stencil placement. The 1st decal sheet has the Vikings and 1st Part of the Red Devils Decals along with stencil Data, while the 2nd smaller sheet has the larger and remaining portions of the Red Devils design.
The color callouts are for Testors Model Master, Humbrol, Gunze, and Xtracrylics, but the FS numbers are also included which make converting to the paint manufacturer of your choice easier.
Two Bobs specified these decals should be used with the Hasegawa or Hobby Boss kits but I’m sure with any knowledge of aircraft and good references you could apply these to any other manufacturer’s kit.
My thanks to IPMS, Two Bobs and Mr. Bob Sanchez owner of Two Bobs for giving me the opportunity to review these extremely cool decals.
