Werner’s Wings has been around for some time and is known primarily for rotary wing subjects offering resin and resin in 1/32, 1/35, 1/48 and 1/72nd scale. Their attention to detail rivals all other resin and decal companies on the market and that can be attributed to the owner, Floyd Werner, who served in the US Army as a helicopter pilot and a helicopter pilot for a local police department. With Floyd’s personal experience with rotary aircraft and his connections in the aviation community, reference material he uses can be trusted to be the most authentic.

This decal set comes with one large decal sheet for individual aircraft profiles and a smaller sheet offering comprehensive stencils. This decal set is nicely printed with zero register issues and with the correct colors. With so many choices of aircraft, you should be able to do multiple builds with one decal sheet as long as the subject are years apart or different nationalities.

The booklet contains six pages in full color instructions with one page dedicated to stencils and four pages covering twenty-one aircraft profiles. The aircraft covered are fifteen US Army aircraft from 1987 through 2015, Republic of China (Taiwan)2013, Croatia 2018/2020, Greek 2019 and Tunisia 2020. Each profile shows different equipment/antenna configurations where some have the AN/ALQ-144 and others where that feature removed. Most of the markings are for the most current Kiowa Warrior airframes and the MRC/Academy kit is a little dated. Werner’s wings offers resin details that you can update the MRC/Academy kit to the correct configuration. Paint colors are all specified in Federal standard numbers which can easily be translated to most paint manufacturers.

Very fine work from Werner’s Wings and I plan on going to Werner’s Wings decals first on future helicopter builds. It is nice to see a company covering the rotary wing subjects with this much dedication. I would like to thank Werner’s Wings for this review sample.
