Twobobs Aviation Graphics are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year and keep producing outstanding decal sheets for modern military jet aircraft. A-10C Hoosier Hawgs (48-276) celebrates three “Blacksnakes” A-10s of the 163rd Fighter Squadron based at Fort Wayne Air National Guard Station, Indiana. This decal sheet reflects the commemoration of 100 years of aviation in the Indiana Air National Guard.

This decal set has the option to build five aircraft – four in the traditional gray camouflage scheme (tail numbers 192, 213, 679, 692), the remaining in the distinctive 100th anniversary black over gray camouflage (244), following the traditional A-10 gray pattern.

There is one decal sheet that has enough decals for all five jets in 1/48 scale. The four-page, color instruction sheets (11”x17”, also known as A3 or Ledger size) provide top, bottom, left and right profiles. The Cartograph decals are colorful, in register and perform remarkably well over a coat of gloss.

This decal set has markings for the unique black over gray scheme for aircraft 244. After all, who can deny the menacing black snake fangs surrounding the powerful GAU-8 30mm cannon on a black and gray painted Hawg? Twobobs has incredible A-10 decals including warthog tusks, shark mouths, and now a beautiful snake face (the gray camouflage Blacksnakes are beautiful as well). These mouths make an aggressive attack aircraft even more menacing.

Twobobs did an amazing job and now I realize I need at least two more A-10s to use these decals. At $15, this is a bargain for decals for five complete models.

According to the Twobobs website, “Two Accurate? Two Colorful? Twobobs!”. Can’t say it better and I am thoroughly happy of my WWII homage Hawg. If you are a fan or builder of modern jets, look at the Twobobs website and be inspired.

Profuse thanks to Twobobs Aviation Graphics and IPMS-USA for providing the review sample.
