Welcome to the IPMS/USA Reviews site!

Introduction: The primary organization of the IPMS/USA Review website is by IPMS/USA National Contest Class. Within each Class there are sub-menus by kits, decals, books, etc. The Miscellaneous Class is for items that are not class specific or that cross two or more classes.

IPMS/USA Members: We encourage you to submit reviews, both here and to the Journal. To volunteer for membership in the IPMS/USA "Reviewers Corps" and submit your own reviews, please read the Guidelines For Submitting Product Reviews.

Manufacturers, publishers, and other industry members: IPMS/USA is pleased to offer your company the opportunity for product reviews. All product reviews are performed by IPMS/USA members, and are posted in the publicly-accessible section of our website. With very few exceptions, we perform full build reviews of new kit releases, aftermarket products, and supplies. If you would care to provide product samples for review, please contact John Noack, IPMS/USA 1st VP.

Part of MMP’s Polish Wings series, this book focuses on the TS-11 Iskra, a Polish designed primary jet trainer. Designed in the late 1950’s in response to the need to train pilots for the Polish Air Force, the Iskra went on to serve for over 50 years with the Polish Air Force. While the design looks vaguely similar to that of the Temco TT-1 Pinto, unlike the Pinto, the Iskra was a very successful aircraft with more than 400 being built of its various variants. As an indigenous design, the Iskra’s primary customer was the Polish Air Force, however, India also purchased and operated 50 of the aircraft for jet pilot training.

This set is intended to be a quick upgrade to the gunner compartment of Special Hobby’s Ju 87D or Academy’s Ju 87G Stuka. The parts are 3D printed and as expected the detail is exquisite. As there are only three parts to the set, for most people this will be an easy upgrade. Unfortunately, my experience went the other way, but to be honest, with one exception, that was all my fault.

ICM Holding has put out a new model of their ZIL-131 truck with the addition of a Ukrainian Sapper Team. This is kit 35018 and is titled “Danger Mines!” Ukraine, Summer 2022. It is essentially a combination of their Sapper Team kit and their venerable ZIL-131 truck kit.

The box art for the kit is first rate and lends itself well to the actual truck and figures that are part of the kit. The box is compact and will fit well in any stash until you decide to build it. Although the box is small, the material within the box was not smashed together and no damage was noted when breaking out the materials from the box.

Courtesy of Peter Ventri at Atlantis Models, a number of new product releases were provided to us at the Madison National Convention. This review covers both the "plain base" and the "cobblestone base" versions of these display cases, the only difference being the street surface under the model.

Both cases are molded in clear acrylic, measuring 9 1/8” L x 3 7/8” H x 3 5/8”. The extra height allows for open hoods and trunks as well as for (obviously) taller vehicles to be displayed. Each case is nicely packaged not only in a secure box but a clear plastic wrap that eliminates scratches and scuffs from shipping damage. An added bonus is that the cases can be stacked (see images). Also supplied is several lengths of thin craft wire with instructions on how to secure a model to the base for more secure handling and transport.
