OKB Grigorov specializes in resin, photoetch, and turned metal barrel conversions for armor. One of their latest releases is the tracks for the Russian T-34 mod.1942, Factory 112 “Red Sormovo”.

This aftermarket set includes parts in grey resin. As you can see from the pictures, the casting of the parts is pretty good, without any bubbles in the resin and small attachment points.

This set provides 4 sections of track, and the pictures show the fantastic level of detail of the tracks, both inside and outside sides.

The sections of track been cast flat, so you would have to gently bend them to shape, using the wheels from the kit to get the proper curvature radius. The resin is very thin, so this should be relatively easy. I would suggest dipping the tracks in hot water before bending them around the wheels and dipping them in cold water afterwards to “set” the curvature in.

The book is part of The Images of War series published by Pen and Sword Ltd. The book is divided into four chapters and three Appendixes with 9 pages at the end to allow notes by the reader. The first chapter deals with Invasion and occupation in 1941-1942 of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. The second chapter talks about foreign recruitment. The last two chapters deal with the last years of the units, and the final end of the units. The first appendix is the Order of Battle of the units. Appendix two describes the Army Group North during June 1944, and finally the last appendix describes the formation of Army Detachment “Narva.”

Phoenix Publications The Grumman E-2 Hawkeye is a paper back, has 96 pages and is full of great photos of the Hawkeye. The history of the E-2 Hawkeye is quite extensively covered from the original idea to the variants that have been built, to today’s serving aircraft. Included in the book is a section devoted to the international service of the Hawkeye and a detailed walkaround as highlights of the book.

The last section of the book covers building the Kenetic E-2C 1/48 scale model and shows three different nationality versions, the United States, French and Mexican Navy builds.

This is my kind of book, filled with lots of glossy colored images of the airplane and not a whole lot of writing. All the photos are high quality and a joy to look at. I recommend the book to anyone who is wishing to build a model of the Hawkeye consider buying this book.
