REFERENCES – a new series of A-4 size volumes. Each consists of 16–24 pages and includes selected archive photos, color painting schemes or 3D renders. Some books would contain scale drawings, too. One can find high-quality decal sheets in 1/48th and 1/72nd scales of one specific painting scheme. If the illustration differs in details from the decal, we will present photos which were used to develop sheets. Series for modelers as a supplement to other publications or compilation of already published materials.
The book “References for Modellers #10 — Focke-Wulf Fw190 A-4/A-8” from Kagero publishing offers rich, yet concise content within its 26 pages. There is a free set of decals included in 1/72 and 1/48 scales for the FW-190 F-8 flown by the commander of II/SG 2 Maj. Karl Kennel in May 1945. We are treated to 5 pages of interesting color profiles. The decals included are for an unusual camouflage scheme of three colors on the upper surfaces as well as similarly painted wheel covers. There are other interesting color profiles as well. Sixteen black and white archival photographs show interesting aircraft close-ups and details. The last eleven pages are dedicated to drawings primarily in 1/48 scale, and three of those pages in 1/72 scale point out specifications of external changes in production run machines. There are even a few 1/24 scale inserts among the drawings. They all provide information about different variants of the Focke-Wulf covered by this book. This publication is quite interesting because it provides concise descriptions of aircraft shown in the color profiles and decals that could be applied to one of the models represented in one of the profiles.
I highly recommend this book to aircraft enthusiasts and model builders, especially for a quick reference, an interesting camouflage painting option with decals, and its affordable price. My sincere thanks go to Kagero Publishing for providing this book to review and IPMS/USA for allowing me to evaluate it.

I grew up in Poland and immigrated to the US 35 years ago when I was in my twenties. Ironically, I majored in English here, but I have fond memories related to my interest in aviation. What spiked my interest in reviewing items were the books on some familiar subjects. For example, I received a glider pilot license in Poland and one of the books Pablo Bouleo mentioned in the 'stash' is from MMP (PZL-104 Wilga 35A, Single No. 46). In my glider training, the plane towing us was the PZL-104 Wilga! So, anything around Polish subjects like PZL Combat Fighters, etc., would land you a quick and thorough review just because I had an exposure to some of the topics. Not to mention an uncle who flew a total of over 4000 hours in Mig-21s. Therefore, I want to thank you both for giving me the opportunity to join this review. group.
