Volume 25 of this series is dedicated to the Panzerwaffe and its many variants/types. The Panzerwaffe ordered 54,147 vehicles/AFVs in 126 versions on 28 different chassis. The book gives you a small representation of the vehicles/AFV built by the Germans during WWII. Although it is true that the German vehicles/AFV were top of the art in their time, they could not compete against the sheer quantity of Allied war production. That being said, the Germans, although under a tremendous amount of pressure due to fighting against superior numbers, still made good use of the equipment provided to them. The German Panzerwaffe defeated Allied opponents in many cases through superior training, tactics and not infrequently, by sheer bravado of their troops.

The introduction of the book is a comparison of the equipment made by the Germans during WWII, giving you a breakdown of the many basic vehicles, their versions and the quantity manufactured. This is followed by 100 pages of photos showing the equipment in battle, at rest during repairs being performed, or of those destroyed in combat. The photos were provided by Peter Kocsis, TsAMO, Fortepan, The Archives of Modern Conflict, Karlheinz Munch, and Strategia KM. The photos are of good quality and show lots of details of the different variants. It should be noted that each caption is provided both in Hungarian and English. This is a book for the historian as well as the modeler. There are several photos that could provide a good basis for a diorama. Therefore, I would recommend the book to anyone interested in learning about or replicating this series of vehicles.

I would like to thank Casemate Publishers for the opportunity of reviewing the book.
