When you purchase an overtree kit, Eduard also offers an ‘minimalist’ photo etch to upgrade it. The LEPT set normally includes just a pre-painted fret, but in this case there are actually two frets. One pre-painted that is primarily for the cockpit, and the other is a brass fret.

Packaged in a ziplock baggie with a card stock stiffener, this set is just the right amount of detail that is needed for the kit. These are things that I would want to add, Eduard just helped me out. The first fret is the pre-painted fret. It is designed primarily for the cockpit. It has the pre-painted instrument panel, which I absolutely love, along with other pre-painted parts. This fret also has the seatbelts. Some people have complained about the ‘pixelization’ of the pre-painted parts. I don’t find that an issue under a coat of flat clear. The clear coat causes the pixelization to disappear.

The second fret has the radiator faces, exhaust shields, sand filter, tail stiffeners, and the bomb fins for that option. In the cockpit, you get the chains, pedals and some other miscellaneous items.

To assemble the instrument panel, I add the plastic panel to the model then add the base pre-painted panel. The layers are added accordingly with super glue. This was then overcoated with clear flat. This does a few things. It blends all the colors together and joins the colors with the cockpit painting. After that has dried, I use Microscale Krystal Klear into the instrument faces. This has the added benefit of providing additional bonding of the panels.

This set is all the things I like to add to my kits. It is a small set, but that is all I normally want to add. It is relatively inexpensive. I’d add this set to every kit. These sets are perfect additions to your Eduard Bf-109F.

Highly recommended
