This excellent decal sheet contains markings for five aircraft – all Canadian-built Mosquitoes! Included in the package are one standard size decal sheet and a double-sided full color directions page which includes some brief historical data and individual aircraft information.

• Mosquito B.VIII (KB315) “The Spook” US Markings & serial number
• DHC Mosquito B.XX KB195
• Mosquito F.B.26 KA406 as the 1,000th Mosquito built by deHavilland Canada

The decals are well done, and printed in perfect register.

I highly recommend this decal sheet to anyone looking to build a Mosquito that is a little different than the rest. Iliad Design has done a great job of picking some unique aircraft that will look great on the contest table or in your display case.

Bombshell Decals came on the decal scene with …well, a bang. Their latest release is based on the Monogram A-26B Invader. The glass nose version was used in Korea and was quite colorful with its overall gloss black paint scheme. The subjects of this sheet are two aircraft which sported Esquire girl nose art.

The decals are printed by Cartograf, so you know they are in perfect register and will respond well with setting solutions. In my opinion, Cartograf decals are the best in the world. The decals are on a single sheet of 5.5” x 8”. You can see the quality in the decals by looking over the Esquire girls. They are perfectly rendered and are some of the best looking pin-ups available in decal form. They have perfect shading and blending to make them exactly like the real thing. Beautiful work by Bombshell and Cartograf. This is the new standard for nose art.

This set of “upgrade” decals is another product by Afterburner in a long line of high-quality decal sets. Designed for the Hasegawa F-18 Super Hornet, this Upgrade Set provides well over 100 markings, stencils, instrument panel faces, restraint harnesses, and even red landing gear door edge markings for the awesome Hasegawa Super Hornet.

This set of decals easily achieves all of the standards for high quality decals. The decals do not allow for underlying colors to bleed through after application. Registry is dead on, and the decal proportions are correct and proper. There is very little carrier film that will need to be trimmed away. The sample taken from the sheet indicated that the decals are strong enough to withstand some handling during the application process, and yet thin enough to adhere to any raised or engraved detail upon which the decal is placed. The sample was treated with SolvaSet and did not show any sign of a negative reaction.

In a single word, “Wow”! This set of decals is recommended for the Hasegawa F-15C/D in 1/48^th scale and can be used on the Academy kits as well. Afterburner also points out that the package includes markings that can be used on the Tamiya 32^nd scale F-15.

The product package includes three sheets of decals, one sheet being rather small and including three decals of the 57^th Fighter Wing logo. The remaining sheets contain markings, stenciling, and other markings that one may choose from.

Markings are provided for the very unique Digital Splinter Scheme, the Blue Flanker Scheme and the Desert Flanker Scheme. Additionally, included within the Desert Flanker Scheme, there are markings for aircraft flown in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2012. Blue Flanker markings include aircraft flown in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2012.

Decals, in order to be of “high quality,” must possess certain characteristics.

Interested in adding an air of realism to your instrument panel? Well, the easiest way to do that is by using instrument faces. You know you can’t paint them as good as Airscale can print them. Well, at least I can’t.

The latest offering from Airscale is aimed at the latest release of Soviet aircraft. There are no fewer than 31 different instruments represented. Many of the instruments are duplicated so you can use this sheet on a number of models. The fidelity of these sheets is beautiful.

Besides the decals, you also are given a small clear acetate sheet to replicate the glass dial faces. This will require a punch and die set, but it is a nice touch.

How to use the Airscale decals is up to you. You can punch them out and add them as a typical decal on the instrument faces. You can add them behind a transparent instrument panel with Future or other setting solution. You can also add them behind a scratchbuilt instrument panel.
