Each issue of Scale Aircraft Modeling has been a basic design and format but they changed it up with the last issue. There are some changes again in that while there were usually two Feature Articles, in this issue, there are five, an Aviation in Profile piece, and a usual series of Compact Build Reviews.

The Feature articles for this issue start with a Hasegawa 1/48 A-7D Corsair II in bright Bicentennial markings by Karl Robinson. Special attention is paid to the paint scheme and producing the inert ordnance. Mr. Robinson also shows how to produce FOD guards and air show labels for the ordnance.

Next up is the Hobbyboss 1/48 A-7D by Jay Laverty made up with TwoBobs "Molar Mauler" decals which have a huge set of teeth on each side of the intake. The kit is weathered and looks superb.

Next up, Pierre Baudru builds Meng Models 1/72 Fiat G.91R in Portuguese markings while dressing the kit up with Eduard, Xtradecals and Flightpath sets. He added rivets to the kit and there are detailed explanations of how the camouflage was done as well as dropping the flaps.

In my opinion, one of the stars of this issue is James Ashton's build of the Tamiya's 1/32 F4U Corsair. This five page article does not focus on the build but instead goes through the process of producing an incredibly weathered version of the plane with the additions of oils, filters, chipping and streaking. the end result is superb.

Lastly, Mark Elliot builds HobbyBoss 1/48 F-84F Thunderstreak. Mark covers the process he uses for a NMF as well as handling the photoetch dive brakes. This include drilling out all of the holes once the decals are on the brake.

The Aviation in Profile article covers the A-7 Corsair with profiles of the A, B, D and E versions being represented. There is also an excellent discussion of armament for the plane.

Also included in the latest edition is Jay Laverty's continuing build of the 1/12 scale Spitfire build. It is starting to look more and more the part.

As is the case in each issue of SAM, there are a number of Compact Build Reviews.

• João Canas builds two Hasegawa 1/48 Aichi Graces- a B7A1 and B7A2
• Angel González masterfully weathers Special Hobbies 1/72 SB2U-3 Vindicator and includes profiles of the plane

In addition, there are numerous notes, new kit announcements and other modeling related items. As always, SAM is highly recommended for its content and excellent reference information.
