Packaged in a thin heat sealed pouches and one portion in a reinforced section with parts adhered to low tack tape. There are eight unique machined parts and a small photo etch (PE) fret. The duplicate photo etch parts may come in handy in case you mess up bending parts or you lose them. The PE is extremely thin, maybe twice the thickness of aluminum foil so take care. You will need to pick the parts up with tweezers and I was lucky the small parts did not fly across the hobby room.

Compared to the Academy parts, the Master Details (MB) parts are very fine and detail is the finest I have ever seen, and directions are very clear and easy to follow. Assembly started with the main gun barrel and one PE part. Next you will want to bend up the other PE part. Install the vented shield then glue the bent PE to the back of the barrel. Use very thin CA glue, as the use of thick CA glue will show up in the build. Once both PE parts are attached, you can put the outer machined parts on since the forward PE has slots in it and parts can easily be installed. On the kit part, remove the barrel and drill holes as instructed. Glue the new barrels to the gun body and you are done.

I did not install the pitot tubes or antenna but you can see in the pictures how much finer the details are compared to the kit.

Master details is known for exquisite detail on all of their update sets and this review sample is no exception. I was worried about how challenging this build would be due to the size and delicate the parts were. This build went together with little issues and I put my fears to rest. There may be some small challenges but the average modeler should not have any issues, they really did a fine job on making this update seat a joy to build.
