About the Company

DXM which stands for Double Excellent Models was started by a group of modelers in Taipei, Taiwan. The group started manufacturing decals in 2010 covering a broad range of aircraft including an extensive list of Japanese air command meets.

What’s on the Sheet?

This sheet covers another set of aircraft from the JASDF participation in the air combat meet for 2013 with the Aircraft Belonging to the 301st SQ and 302nd squadron which are based out of Nyutabaru Airbase and Hyakuri Airbase.

The aircraft covered are as followed:

  • F-4EJ Kai Super Phantom 301st Squadron Nyutabaru Airbase
  • F-4EJ Kai Super Phantom 302nd Squadron Hyakuri Airbase

The Decals are extremely bright and colorful and I could see very little if none carrier film, DXM has used Cartograf to handle their printing needs instead of printing themselves, so if you have used their products before you know the quality and construction of theses decals will be outstanding. I also personally find these my favorite out of their product lineup due to a fondness for the F-4.

The decals have a 1 sheet instruction booklet covering paint schemes, color callout along with decal and stencil placement. The 1st small decal sheet has the ACM 2013 meet decals and tail codes while the 2nd larger sheet has all the national markings and stencil data (some in Japanese and some in English) and the rest of the tail art for the possible second variant.

The Color callouts are for GSI Mr. Color and Humbrol but the FS numbers are also included which make converting to the paint manufacturer of your choice easier.

DXM has not specified which kit the decals are meant for but I am sure these would probably be for the Hasegawa and Tamiya kits, however I believe with a little more research and some common sense you could use these on any manufactured F-4 kit.

My thanks to IPMS and DXM models for giving me the opportunity to review these decals.
