About the Company

Two Bobs is a limited run/ Custom Decal company based out of Fort Worth, Texas and is owned and operated by Mr. Bob Sanchez. Mr. Sanchez is a former enlisted Air Force engineer and has been very active in the modeling community almost all of his life. Two-Bob decals usually sell out very well and once their limited run subjects sell out they are not available for reprint. Get them while they are available or be prepared to pay the eBay supply vs Demand Price.

What’s on the Sheet?

The first aftermarket sheet ever released for the F-16C/D Thunderbirds! The USAF is celebrating its 70th Anniversary in 2017 and these markings are current for this year’s airshow season.

One full set of Thunderbird markings are included with unique aircrew and maintenance markings for each individual jet. A bonus to the 2017 markings are the names that were carried during Buzz Aldrin's flight at the Homestead Airshow.

There are also markings for "Warbird 10". This Block 15 jet from the 1988 airshow season was reverted back to a Combat Coded aircraft for one mission and dispensed live munitions. The aircraft was reverted from airshow configuration back to combat configuration in 72-hours. Included in the sheet are two complete sets of markings and stencils for both splinter jets. The walkway lines are printed in three different colors to allow the modeler to accurately match the walkway lines to the paint schemes as applied.

Sheet Quality and Directions

The Decals are extremely bright and colorful, with looks to be no excess carrier film needing to be trimmed. Using Microscale industries to handle their printing needs, you are getting quality matched to none with live vivid colors, quality, and accuracy, along with US of A manufacturing. The decal placement guide has specifically stated that Micro-Sol and Micro-Set should be used with these decals, so no complaints from me at all.

The decals have a two front/back instruction sheets covering paint schemes, color callouts, along with decal and stencil placement for a single aircraft. The 1st and 2nd large sheets cover the thunderbird and warbird body decals, tail fin, and wings, while the 3rd sheet covers the Pilot and ground crew names and placards. The final 4th small sheet covers world tour and operator’s flags in 2 small decals.

The Color callouts are for Testors Model Master, Humbrol, Gunze, and Xtracrylics, but the FS numbers are also included which make converting to the paint manufacturer of your choice easier.

Two Bobs specified these decals should be used with the Tamiya F-16C Block 32/52 kit which is a beautiful kit, and if you are savvy can find it on the net for about $25-30. After owning several viper kits by various manufacturers I believe Tamiya kits to be the best available

My thanks to IPMS and Two Bobs for giving me the opportunity to review these extremely cool decals. I’m Stationed here locally at Fort Carson and I can always go to Peterson AFB to see a Thunderbird and other aircraft when they are available, or flying around the USAF Academy. Now I have a nice set of quality decals to do my own.
