Polish Fighter Colors 1939-1947, Vol.2Published:
The Polish Air Force during WWII fought in many fronts, under many different camouflage schemes and with a very large variety of aircraft. During 1939, it fought over Poland and later it became an “Air Force in exile”, fighting alongside first with the French Air Force first and the Royal Air Force later. It should be pointed out that, while incorporated to with the RAF for operational purposes, the Polish Air Force remained an independent Air Force (hence the small checkerboard with Polish markings near the nose of the airplane) under control of the Polish Government in exile, in London. While there also were Polish pilots in the VVS (Soviet Air Force) those squadrons were not under control of the Polish Government in exile and they were effectively a regular Soviet squadron,… more |

IA-58 PucaraPublished:
Kinetic Models has been consistently releasing airplanes covering the Falklands War conflict and their latest release has been the IA 58 Pucara in 1/48 scale. This kit is part of their “Kinetic Gold” series which is a substantial improvement on the mold quality relative to previous kits of the same manufacturer. All parts are sharply modeled, with very fine panel lines and no flash anywhere to be seen. Inside the box you find 5 sprues (one of the sprues is provided twice as there are parts that are needed twice) and one of the sprues is molded in clear for the canopy and all the lights covers. There is a small photoetch fret and a decal sheet for two aircrafts, one from the Uruguayan Air Force and one for the Argentinean Air Force during the Falkland War era. Loadout options… more |

IA-58 Pucara Landing Gear (Kinetic)Published:
Scale Aircraft Conversions specializes in white metal replacement parts. Its line of replacement landing gear has been expanded to include a set for the Kinetic 1/48 IA-58 Pucara. The set is including a total 13 parts covering the main landing gear struts and nose landing gear. These parts are drop-in replacements for the plastic parts. Considering the size and weight of the IA-58 Pucara in 1/48 scale, investing on a sturdy landing gear is likely to be a good idea. Considering that the Pucara is a tricycle landing gear with a large tail, you will be adding a fair amount of lead weights that would sit on top of the nose landing gear. In addition, when using white metal landing gear you can always ‘tweak’ the landing gear strut for an improved alignment of the parts which again… more |

IA-58 Pucara FAA Colors SetPublished:
In the last year or so I have been able to try out the Ammo by Mig Jimenez paints and I’m very well impressed with them. They are sturdy and durable, nothing like other acrylic paints I have used before. When I had the opportunity to review another set of them, I jumped on it, as these paints are among the best acrylics I’ve ever used. This particular set A.mig-7242, Pucara FAA includes six 17-ml eye-dropper style containers of paint for
As you can see from the list of colors, most of the paints in this set (if not all of them) are… more |

Metal barrel for ZiS-6 for KV-2/3/4/5Published:
OKB Grigorov specializes in resin, photoetch and turned metal barrel conversions for armor. One of their latest releases is metal barrel for the KV-2/3/4/5 This aftermarket set includes a barrel is made of turned metal with a hollow end. It will be perfect to enhance the looks of your model as the gun barrel tends to be a focal point of most armor models. This set is well done and will require no cleaning of the parts for assembly. It is meant to be a “drop-in” replacement, without having to modify parts of the original kit. Highly recommended. I would like to thank OKB Grigorov and IPMS/USA for the review sample. |

OKB Grigorov specializes in resin, photoetch and turned metal barrel conversions for armor. One of their latest releases is the Turret for Pz.VI Tiger H2. As you can see from the pictures, the casting of the parts is pretty good, without any bubbles in the resin, although with some small flash in some areas. Overall, this set is well done and will require minimum cleaning of the parts for assembly. This would make for quite an interesting conversion and it is meant to be a “drop-in” replacement, without having to modify parts of the original kit.
