Book Author(s): Slawomir Zajaczkowski
Company: Kagero Publishing

The Topdrawings series specializes in line-drawings of a given subject in each booklet. The 120th installment in this series is devoted to the always popular Armored Personnel Carrier Half-Track. This booklet covers the M3/M5/M9 versions of the half-track which were manufactured by International Harvester Company.

This booklet has 5-View line drawings for the M3A1, M3A2, M5, M5A1, M5A2, M9A1 in 1/35, 1/48 and 1/72 scale plus color profiles of M5, M9, M9A1 in French, Polish and American Service during World War II.

The booklet also includes a brief description on the overall history of the AFV. Sadly, not all line drawings have an explanation as to what was modified from the previous block series. By my personal inspection of the drawings the main differences are around… more

Company: Kinetic Model Kits

Kinetic Models is expanding its line of F-104 Starfighters. Having released the late markings already (-G, -J, -S, including some trainers) they are adding to their line the early variants: -A and -C.

The kit arrives in a large sturdy box (where you can comfortably keep the model in between sessions while you are working on it) with a total of 4 sprues -one molded in clear- and a small photoetch fret. There is a brand-new sprue for the fuselage and the wings. Two of the sprues have already been released as part of their latter markings boxings. This means you get extra parts, like ejection seats, a radar set and a few other details for the spare box.

The decal sheet is printed by Cartograph and it is designed by 104Graphs. It includes markings for 4 aircrafts, two in… more

Book Author(s): Robert Gretzyngier, Wojtek Matusiak, Wojciech Zmyslony, Marek Rogusz, Bartłomiej Belcarz, Tomasz J. Kopański
Company: Mushroom Model Publications - MMP Books

The Polish Air Force during WWII fought in many fronts, under many different camouflage schemes and with a very large variety of aircraft. During 1939, it fought over Poland and later it became an “Air Force in exile”, fighting alongside first with the French Air Force first and the Royal Air Force later.

It should be pointed out that, while incorporated to with the RAF for operational purposes, the Polish Air Force remained an independent Air Force (hence the small checkerboard with Polish markings near the nose of the airplane) under control of the Polish Government in exile, in London. While there also were Polish pilots in the VVS (Soviet Air Force) those squadrons were not under control of the Polish Government in exile and they were effectively a regular Soviet squadron,… more

Company: Kinetic Model Kits

Kinetic Models has been consistently releasing airplanes covering the Falklands War conflict and their latest release has been the IA 58 Pucara in 1/48 scale. All parts are sharply modeled, with very fine panel lines and no flash anywhere to be seen.

Inside the box you find 5 sprues (one of the sprues is provided twice as there are parts that are needed twice) and one of the sprues is molded in clear for the canopy and all the lights covers. IA-58 Pucara Landing Gear (Kinetic)

Published:
Company: Scale Aircraft Conversions

Scale Aircraft Conversions specializes in white metal replacement parts. Its line of replacement landing gear has been expanded to include a set for the Kinetic 1/48 IA-58 Pucara. The set is including a total 13 parts covering the main landing gear struts and nose landing gear. These parts are drop-in replacements for the plastic parts.

Considering the size and weight of the IA-58 Pucara in 1/48 scale, investing on a sturdy landing gear is likely to be a good idea. Considering that the Pucara is a tricycle landing gear with a large tail, you will be adding a fair amount of lead weights that would sit on top of the nose landing gear. In addition, when using white metal landing gear you can always ‘tweak’ the landing gear strut for an improved alignment of the parts which again… more

IA-58 Pucara FAA Colors Set

Published:
Company: AMMO by Mig Jimenez

In the last year or so I have been able to try out the Ammo by Mig Jimenez paints and I’m very well impressed with them. They are sturdy and durable, nothing like other acrylic paints I have used before. When I had the opportunity to review another set of them, I jumped on it, as these paints are among the best acrylics I’ve ever used.

This particular set A.mig-7242, Pucara FAA includes six 17-ml eye-dropper style containers of paint for

  • A.MIG-0025 FS33446 US MODERN VEHICLES

  • A.MIG-0023 PROTECTIVE GREEN
  • A.MIG-0064 EARTH BROWN
  • A.MIG-0263 IJN MEDIUM GREY

As you can see from the list of colors, most of the paints in this set (if not all of them) are… more
