FINNAIR - A Century of Nordic AviationPublished:
This is the 5th volume of a new Key Aero Airlines Series covering FINNAIR a Century of Nordic Aviation. The book covers the complete history of the airline from the creation of Aeronaut in Estonia in 1918, then the move to Finland as Aero Oy in 1923 to its current global position in the industry. The book covers the routes and fleet development over the years including all the ups and downs that the Airline industry always has. The chapters are fascination and give way more details that I expected in such an apparently small book. All the photographs and write up in this book really help to show how the airline grow and also main issues and troubles it has had during its history. I recommend this book to everyone with an interest in Commercial Aircraft and or Airlines.… more |

The Desert War, Then and NowPublished:
The book is part of the After the Battle series and was written by Jean Paul Pallud. The Desert War covers the North Africa campaigns of WWII from June 1940 till the allied victory in May 1943, and the German Infantry and Artillery from 1939 to the end of the war. The book covers all the action and has pictures of the locations during WWII and present day as a comparison. I really wanted to review this book as my Father served in the Royal Tank Corp in North Africa from 1942 till the end of the North Africa campaign, then shipped to Italy. This subject was close to my heart and my passion for this era. Picking it up, the book is big and impressive. The detail in the book is incredible and covers the whole period in concise and organized fashion. The photos from the… more |

With Raupenschlepper OST on the Eastern FrontPublished:
The book was written by Wilhelm Bender, a Medic in the German Infantry and Artillery from 1939 to the end of the war. This tells the story of his war experiences on the Eastern front and the use of the Raupenschlepper tracked support vehicle. The book is really about everyday life and issues being a soldier in the regular German army in the Eastern Front, from the days Germany was winning battles to the long road to total defeat of the German war machine. The personal collection of photos Wilhelm uses in the book are excellent and help show the conditions and day to day life of these soldiers during the whole war. They are all very different from the normal war book and all are like a behind the scenes of the war. They show a very intimate view of Wilhelm’s involvement… more |

Cessna 152Published:
VFR Models is a UK producer of 3D Printed 1/72 General Aviation Aircraft Kits. This kit is baby brother to the Cessna 172 the Cessna 152 which is a two-seater. The parts are very nicely 3D printed using DLP (Digital Light Processing) Resin Printing. The parts need to be removed from the print support mounts and this is easily done with Spue cutter or sharp blade. The construction starts with the cockpit and is very easy. There is no real guide to painting the interior, so you need to look up for references. Painting the interior should be completed before installation of the cockpit. The Cockpit is then installed into the fuselage, this was not very easy, and the cockpit base needed a lot of cleaning up and material removed to sit correctly. I also added some… more |
