ICM has provided this very midget Submarine for review, in 1/72 scale of the U-boat Type ‘Molch’. The Molch was a single seat ultra small submarine developed for costal operations. With serial production starting in July 1944 with around 393 were produced in the Bremen. They operated mainly in the Mediterranean and North Sea completing round 140 missions.

The detail quality is excellent.

The Assembly is quick and easy.

The assembly starts with the main hull adding the viewing ports and the sailor compartment which is very minimal as you would expect with a midget submarine. Remember to paint the interior of the hull with the color “G” from the instructions. I also painted the seat and head rest leather as I found some reference pictures that seemed to show leather covers. The whole assembly was very easy and quick. There was no issues or defects. There is a choice of which top hatch design to use and which of four marking variants to use. I selected the small hatch and the version 3 color scheme.

This is a great little kit and I really enjoy building it, it will make a great addition my submarine builds.

Thanks go to ICM for providing this kit to review and IPMS USA for allowing me to review it for them.
