The Product

My sample arrived in standard blister pack. Inside I found the instructions, one photo-etch fret, one piece of steel gun barrel stock, two pairs of machine guns, one pair is completely made of resin and the other pair has the photo-etched cooling jackets with steel barrels. Both sets include and/or share common photo-etch embellishments.

The Build

First I decided to build the most challenging of the two pair and forego the solid resins pair. I started by cutting the steel barrel into the correct lengths of 10.2 mm each leaving a small remainder to be discarded. Next I rolled the cooling jackets. This was relatively simple once I found a proper dowel. Here’s where the real fun starts, attaching the barrel, cooling jacket, receiver and muzzle parts together. The resin pieces have a small dimple where the barrel is attached to and a shallow sleeve for the jacket nonetheless maintaining proper alignments is tough and I had a few do-overs before I was happy. The smaller parts required to embellish the receiver are extremely tiny and the going is tedious. I spent more than two weeks on this pair.

The kit requires one small adjustment in order to mount these babies, part A43 needs 1.1 mm trimmed off so the guns sit properly. In my case, I had already installed part A43 but fear not it can still be trimmed before you mount the weapons. I’ve included photos of the two options included Eduards profiPACK kit and the two Brassins options.
