Each issue of Scale Aircraft Modeling has been a basic design format but they changed it up with this issue. The change is that the "Scuttlebutt Lodge" and the "Marketplace" sections have been married together better to provide a more cohesive presentation of future, current and past releases, and give modelers more of the information they need to make informed decisions. There are usually two Feature Articles but in this issue there are four, an Aviation in Profile piece, and a series of Compact Build Reviews.

The Feature articles for this issue covers the final part of the new H-K Models 1/32 Gloster Meteor, the second part of the Classic Airframes Grumman Duck diorama, the new Eduard 1/72 MiG-15bis and Wingman Models 1/48 Alpha jet. The Meteor is from Jay Laverty and concludes the series. Part 2 includes a discussion of the logic behind painting the model to represent the High Speed Silver color and decaling of the High Speed Silver finish along with a great explanations of Jay's weathering techniques. The end result is excellent.

The next feature article is a build of Wingman Models 1/48 Alpha Jet by Brian Wakeman. Wingman is a combination of Isradecals and AIRDoc and what they do is take a nice kit and offer a full meal deal with resin and metal parts. In this case you get a resin cockpit, ejection seat and wheels along with photoetch details, a canopy mask and metal pitot and AOA probes. The build is fantastic with the final jet looking fabulous.

The 3rd feature is Eduard's new 1/72 Mig-15bis by Seb Videc. The build is quick and the results fantastic. Mr. Videc calls the kit "truly remarkable' and the results certainly look that way.

Lastly, the final feature article is part 2 of the Grumman Duck diorama by Sjon van der Heiden. In the finale, he constructs the diorama base and gives detailed instructions on brush painting. Yes, the kit is brush painted and you simply cannot tell it. The final results of the rescue of a downed pilot is spectacular.

The Aviation in Profile article covers the "Unusual" Alphas featuring the Alpha Jet (and tying back to the feature article). There are over 30 profiles including some really eye catching schemes. Color callouts are done for the schemes also. There is also a page of wild schemes.

As is the case in each issue of SAM, there are a number of Compact Build Reviews.
