When this book was announced and I looked at the contents, I knew I had to have it. You see, I have am working on a collection of aircraft from the 352nd Fighter Group, the Blue-Nosed, uh, Boys from Bodney. And this book has decals for one of the ones I’ve been unable to find. In fact, the book has decals in 1/32nd, 1/48th, and 1/72nd for four aircraft:

• P-51D-15-NA, 44-15392, 20, Cheese Cake Chassie, of the 2nd Fighter Squadron, 2nd Air Commando Group, CBI, Lt. B. J. Mayer (includes only specific aircraft markings, no lightning bolts)

• P-51D-20-NA, 44-63497, FT-I, Angel’s Playmate, 353rd Fighter Squadron, 354th Fighter Group, ETO, Capt. Bruce W. Carr
• P-51D-15-NA, 44-14955, Dopey Okie, 487th Fighter Squadron, 352nd Fighter Group, ETO, Lt. Karl K. Dittmer

The decals are printed by Cartograf with all the excellent reputation that carries, are clear and in register, with an absolute minimum of carrier film around each decal. In short, they’re beautiful.

The book is packed with black and white photos, many of which I’ve never seen before and, believe me, I’ve seen a lot of pictures of Mustangs. There are also a few pictures of Cavalier Mustangs, planes that were upgraded before being sold to Bolivia. The introduction and all the captions are in English and Polish.

All in all, I highly recommend this book if you are a fan of the P-51D or K Mustangs. The decals make a very nice bonus and make the book an outstanding value. Thanks to Kagero for providing the sample and to IPMS/USA for allowing me to review it.
