This is a new tooled kit first issued in 2017. It is an excellent kit in the Hasegawa range and is very easy to build as long as you watch the instruction details carefully.

In the box is:

  • 2 x orange sprues
  • 1 clear sprue
  • 1 light grey sprue
  • 3 x dark grey sprues
  • 1 length of hose
  • 1 decal sheet
  • 4 x poly caps
  • 1 instruction booklet

The sprues are extremely well molded with no flash and great detail. The parts are all molded in the correct colors so if the build is done well there is no need to do much painting.

Construction

Stage 1 Assembly begins with the front section of the articulated body. There are a few places you have to be careful to correct assembly the parts. Be very careful to place the decal on part B4, ensure you install part number E-4 to ensure contact with the Roller when it is installed later. Also ensure the correct assembly of parts B13, B14 and B12 as these can be reversed easily. I also have a little trouble with the gaps and alignment of A12.

Stage 2 and 3 is the roller and attachment brackets no issues were found. I did paint the roller at this stage with metalized Aluminum paint.

Stage 4 is the assembly of the Bonnet (Hood) and roller attachment which was all very easy

.Stage 5, 6 and 7 are the rear section of the articulated body which was a dream to build.

Stage 8 is the assembly of the completed Front and rear units with the only item to be careful of is the direction and threading of the 8 hoses from the front to rear unit. Also you assembly the female driver, I left the arms off as these need to be positioned correctly once in the cabin seat.

Last is the final paint details and the decals.

Summary

This wonderful kit from Hasegawa, I really enjoyed this and look forward to building another one in the construction series. This is not a difficult kit to build so any standard of modeler can enjoy assembling this kit.

Thanks go to Hobbico/Hasegawa for providing this kit to review and IPMS USA for allowing me to review it for them.
