Yellow Wings Decals has released two new decal sets that provide optional marking for Special Hobbies’ 1/32 scale Curtiss P-36A kit. Each of the decal sets is packaged in a typical zip-lock sleeve along with a comprehensive color 4-view instruction sheet with supplemental sheets that include application and placement instructions, and brief historical information. These sets exhibit the same high level of quality as all of the other decal sets currently available from Yellow Wings Decals.

Set 32-016 provides markings for the 20^th Pursuit Group commander’s P-36A, as it appeared in 1938-39 at Barksdale Field in Louisiana. All major markings: national insignias, 20^th Pursuit Group Badges, group commander’s fuselage stripes and cowl colors bands, wing lettering and aircraft numbers, rudder stripes, and 3-color wheel hub symbols are provided on the sheet. These are intended to be applied along with appropriate stencil decals provided on the kit’s decal sheet to accurately represent this specific aircraft.

Set 32-021 provides markings for the 16^th Pursuit Group commander’s P-36A, as it appeared in 1939-40 at Albrook Field in Panama. All major markings: national insignias, 16^th Pursuit Group Badges, group commander’s fuselage stripes, wing lettering and aircraft numbers, rudder stripes and 2-color wheel hub symbols are provided on the sheet. These are intended to be applied along with appropriate stencil decals provided on the kit’s decal sheet to accurately represent this specific aircraft.

The decals in these sets are custom printed for Yellow Wings by MICROSCALE. They are accurately registered and crisply printed in vibrant opaque colors on thin film (with minimal carrier film surrounding the printed images) and sized correctly for application to the Special Hobbies P-36A kit. The photos below show the markings provided on the decal sheets in these sets. Experience has shown MICROSCALE decals respond well to most mild decal setting solutions (that are applied in moderation after the decals are in position and blotted carefully with a soft cloth or Q-tip).

These decal sets are highly recommended to anyone who wants to build a 1/32 Special Hobbies P-36 kit with some unique and colorful markings not previously available in this scale.
