Thanks to Plus Model for sending these elegant chairs from the Easy Line product series for review and thank you IPMS Reviewer Corps for letting me review them! I am very appreciative of the chance to contribute back to the scale-modeling community.

Parts for 2 chairs are crisply molded in gray resin with pour stubs conveniently located for holding during painting and nearly-effortless subsequent removal. Some of the 6 parts had flash or seepage, but the excess material was very thin and was removed without any trouble at all. There are no instructions because none are needed. There is not a great deal to say about the minimal assembly in any great detail, other than there was very little preparation to do on the parts before painting. The very light flash peeled off very easily, leaving only a light molding line on the parts, a line easily chased off with the tip of a No. 11 blade. The back chair legs are thin and this gives a nice scale effect. However, the back legs were warped forward in the package, giving the chairs a strange appearance. After the chairs were assembled, I dipped the back legs in hot water to soften the resin. I was easily able to readjust the softened legs to look proper. I will admit that I had a bit of a laugh using this method, since the hot-water straightening does mimic steam-bending in furniture making. Correcting the splay of the Easy Line chairs was much easier than the real thing! I can extend the furniture analogy further by recommending that slow CA glue be used so that you can tweak and adjust the chairs to sit properly, much like a full-size furniture glue-up.

I painted the chairs with Vallejo acrylics, mixing a succession of brown tones to create a wood grain appearance. I attempted to create a fumed-oak look, the seat topped by a somewhat faded black leather cushion. I thought about adding brass upholstery tacks using paint drops around the cushion. That thought was quickly discarded!

I highly recommend this accessory set. I really had fun with the chairs, building was simple and painting the wood grain was a challenge. The result is a very nice eye-catching addition to the collection. I am certainly looking at Plus Models for other products to use.
