The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress is a four-engine heavy bomber developed in the 1930s for the United States Army Air Corps (USAAC). The B-17 was primarily employed by the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) in the daylight strategic bombing campaign of World War II against German industrial and military targets. The United States Eighth Air Force, based at many airfields in central and southern England, and the Fifteenth Air Force, based in Italy, complemented the RAF Bomber Command's nighttime area bombing in the Combined Bomber Offensive to help secure air superiority over the cities, factories and battlefields of Western Europe in preparation for the invasion of France in 1944. The B-17 also participated to a lesser extent in the War in the Pacific, early in World War II, where it conducted raids against Japanese shipping and airfields.

Recently I was given the opportunity by IPMS USA to review Resin 2 Detail Pilot and Co-Pilots seats for the Revell/Monogram B-17 Flying Fortress kits. One of the first things to notice with this product is the nice presentation of the packaging with the sealed flap on the back of package to allow for easy access to parts. Instructions are included in package with a nice overview and detailed drawings of contents.

The molding on the resin seats is excellent and they come off of the resin block with little effort. You receive 1 pilot’s seat and 1 co-pilot’s seat in the set. These seats have a nice look to them and the detail on the seatbelts is excellent. These will make a great addition to the Revell/Monogram kit to replace the seats that come in the kit. The supports that the seats sit on are not included but you can use the ones in the kit. Resin 2 Detail according to their website will be coming out with theses supports in the future.

Overall I’m well pleased with what I have seen from Resin 2 Detail in their offerings so far in the aftermarket world. These seats will definitely make your B-17 more presentable and realistic when the build is finished. I would like to thank Resin 2 Detail and IPMSUSA for the opportunity to review this item.
