This will be the third of a three-part review of Mission Models paints.

The Metallics

Mission Models has four new metallic paints, White Aluminum, Dark Aluminum, Duraluminum and Silver.

For this paint test I sprayed Mission White Primer after cleaning and degreasing the test surface. If you use gray or black primer you can get a variance of tonal quality for each of the metallic paints making them very versatile.

I decided to paint the White Aluminum and Dark Aluminum for this review. As you can see in the accompanying pictures the paints are very durable. Once laid down they will not pull up with masking tape and have a nice metallic sheen.

This publication identifies the causes of the battle at Campaldino, the economic, social, political and religious issues that defined the conditions in northern Italy in the late 1280’s. In addition, the book addresses the impact that the battle had on a well-known poet of the time, that being Dante. The authors indicate that Dante’s "Devine Comedy" can be viewed as framing Dante’s description of pain and suffering in "Devine Comedy".

It’s June of 1940. The Wehrmacht has just crushed the armies of Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium and France. The British Army has escaped across the Channel from Dunkirk, and they’ve left a lot of equipment behind, not to mention a goodly number of soldiers. Germany has to get their act together in France, prepare for occupation of those conquered territories, and then there’s the thought of what to do about England.

This book is not the usual Osprey book we review here at IPMS USA. It is mostly text, with only a few pictures thrown in. It covers the period from June 1940 to July of 1941. After this, Sea Lion became a moot point, as the Wehrmacht had their hands full in the Soviet Union.

Czech Master's out of Czechoslovakia continues to add to its list of quality aftermarket and modeling supply products; this time with packages of linked brass chain. Reviewed here are two sizes: 2.8mm (Coarse) and 1.8mm (Medium), suitable for 1/35thscale. The brass chain accepts blackening agent, such as A-West’s ‘Blacken It’, turning the chain from a bright, brass color to a darker color, depending on how long the chain is left in the liquid. Once dry, pigments can be added to flesh out the effect desired. The two sizes are perfect for filling in detail on armor models and/or diorama layouts, and measure 30 cm, or just under 12 inches in length.

I recommend this Czech Master's product for any modeler who wants to add a nice little bit of detail to their work.
