Berlin 1945 (L'agonie du Reich)Published:
The key to the end of World War II in Europe was the capture of Berlin, the heart of the Third Reich. The American, British and French forces were west of Berlin, but due to American influence had no designs on seizing the city. However, the Red Army was obsessed with capturing Berlin and pushed toward the city with all the speed it could muster The subject of this book is Berlin in 1945 before, during, and after its fall. Berlin 1945 L’agonie du Reich is the sequel to one Georges Bernage wrote in 2005 entitled Berlin 1945. His new book is a hardback, is 8-1/2 “X 12”, and contains 180 pages. US Air Force Special Operations CommandPublished:
Several weeks ago, I attended a change of command ceremony for a unit of the United States Army Special Forces at Ft. Bragg. My mind was still full of memories of Ft. Bragg and the visit to the Airborne & Special Operations Museum when this book became available for review. I jumped at the chance to do the review. Thank you SAM Publications for providing the review sample. The Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) probably had its beginning during WWII. It was not until the Vietnam War that Special Operation came into its own. Colors of the Falcons: Soviet Aircraft Camouflage and Markings in World War IIPublished:
Iliad Design is a new company for us. I would like to thank them for submitting this book for review. Many modelers are familiar with the camouflage patterns of WW II U.S., British, German, and Japanese aircraft. However, until the first publication of Colors of the Falcons in 2006, the camouflage patterns used by the Soviets were not as well known. Because of this lack of knowledge and subsequent demand for the book, it is now in its second printing. Colors of the Falcons is a paperback book measuring 8-1/2” X 11” and consisting of 56 pages. The cover and pages are printed on high gloss paper. The book contains approximately 82 black and white photographs with accompanying text. There are four color plates depicting 20 different aircraft in various… more |

Ferrari 312T2 "1976 Monaco GP Winner"Published:
I would like to thank Dragon Models USA for submitting this item to IPMS for review and IPMS for allowing me to review it. BackgroundThe Ferrari 312T was designed by Mauro Forghieri for the 1975 Gran Prix season. Over the next six years the 312T series won 27 races, four constructors' and three drivers' championships The car was powered by a flat-12 cylinder engine which produced approximately 510bhp. The "T" in "312T" stood for transverse. This was the mounting configuration of the gearbox which improved the car's handling characteristics over its predecessors. The 312T was used for the first three races of the '76 season. It was replaced by a modified version, the 312T2. This was basically the same car, but conformed to new regulations banning the tall air… more |
