EVEN more THANKS VERY MUCH to our friends at Eduard in Czechoslovakia!

When I received the box , I knew what I was getting. The review will be four separate tomes to cover the Over tree kit, the wheel set, and the over tree stencil decal set.

This continues my comment about Eduard having a great business model. In this case, the overtree is an “Over PE”, an additional parts set containing instrument panels, seat harnesses, all the cockpit levers and handles, along with myriad side panel and quadrant details. What is also added is the fish-plates which were riveted on certain circumferential panels on the tail section, (right in front of the stabilizer and fin), to spread out vibration and stresses which were causing fatal operatonal crashes due to the tails ripping off aircraft which were flying along just fine until fatique cracking caught up to the low-time airframes. Not a bad design, the Tempest, but more of a “it slipped through the cracks because we don’t have months or years to figure this out”. Obviously the gents at Farnborough DID figure it out, as strengthening the internal structure was incorporated and the tails stopped buzzing off. The remainder of the PE sheet was Rudder pedals and two antenna stiffeners toround out the package. I am envious of you, Edward wizards to have time to come up with all this!

This set was part of three evenings of PE enjoyment. Everything went where it was supposed to and I am more than impressed with how these details added so much to a cockpit which is mostly invisible anyway…
