This set consists of 44 parts on one sprue of medium tan plastic. Parts are included for 2 figures, plus personal weapons and gear, and extra canteens and mess kits. Also, there is a “double” loaf of bread, and a large, insulated food container. One figure is dressed in a greatcoat, the other is wearing the reversible button-down parka. A choice of soft cap or helmet is provided for the greatcoat figure. There are no decals provided, nor a separate instruction sheet. Assembly directions are on the back of the box, as is a painting guide, listing paint numbers and colors from Vallejo, Tamiya, Lifecolor, Humbrol, and Agama.

Assembly was straightforward, with figure pieces fitting well, not needing any filler. Both were assembled “out of the box” with the exception of a rifle sling on one man, and some replacement handles for the mess tins. Mold seams were easily removed, with no shrinkage distortion of any kind. After drilling a hole in one foot, each figure was primed in Floquil Antique White to check for flaws. Basic colors were laid on with Tamiya acrylic paints, and final colors and shading were done with artist’s oils and Humbrol enamels. Both figures were posed walking past a burned out Russian SU-100, which is the subject of my next review.

Both figures are nicely rendered, and seem to go together, unlike all the figures in some other sets. The figure in the overcoat has the skirt section of the coat supplied in 4 pieces in order to keep them thin and avoid the flat bottom look. The faces and overall detail are perhaps on a level with older DML and Tamiya kits, not on a par with the newer DML Gen 2 figures. They are fairly priced and would go nicely in a non-action diorama, or a small vignette.
