Packaging

The Gaahleri conversion kit for the Mobius-TG Premium Series comes well-packed in a small hanger box for the needle, which contains a foam insert containing the secured needle. The packaging indicates the needle size and SKU on a sticker on the rear of the packaging. The cap and nozzle are both contained in sturdy blister packs that are also suitable for hanging. Each component is labeled with the Gaahleri SKU and component size for the 0.3mm cap and nozzle.

The Components

The components are well packaged and come with no damage or irregularity. Once removed from the packaging, the process of applying the conversion began.

Airbrush Conversion

A simple process, taking no more than 1 minute, the Gaahleri Mobius-TG contains a quick release collar which is hand tightened and loosened. As such, the removal of the old nozzle and cap was quick and painless. The removal of the needle took a little longer, but no more than a few seconds, the cutaway handle needs to be removed to expose the needle chucking nut which, once loosened, allows for removal of the needle. Insertion of the new 0.3mm needle is quick, and it snugly fits into the airbrush housing.

Once connected to the air supply, a quick blast of airbrush cleaner was administered before adding the closest pre-thinned paint on hand for testing purposes. Visibly thinner lines were possible, and detail painting was an improved possibility with this conversion. I applied paint to the face of the 3D printed model I had previously coated in primer, and the paint was applied with ease and precision. I also tried applying paint to the straps on the sample model, and it also performed admirably there, but there was some over spray coming more from my shaky hands than due to the airbrush misbehaving.
