The Item

If you want to bring your M20 Armored Utility Car model kit to the next level, this excellent photo etch detail set is just the thing for you. This extensive PE sheet has most of the appliqués that can be added to the kit to provide a fully detailed rendering of the M20 vehicle.

PE parts generally require certain tools to bend/and manipulate the parts for a good fit. You’ll find those at online and local hobby shops. Adhesion can be done in a variety of ways including thin cements, paint, or even floor polish, depending on the part’s requirements. This set comes with instructions and the parts are correspondingly numbered on the fret tree.

All-in-all this set will definitely enhance the appearance of your armored car.

The Subject

The M20 Armored Utility Car was an American armored vehicle that was developed during World War II. It was designed to serve as a reconnaissance and utility vehicle, and was based on a modified chassis of the GMC CCKW 2.5 ton truck.

The M20 Armored Car was armed with a .50 caliber M2 Browning machine gun and a 30 caliber M1919A4 machine gun, and had a crew of four. It was also equipped with a radio, and could carry additional supplies and equipment.

The M20 was notable for its high speed and mobility, which made it well-suited for reconnaissance missions. Its armor, however, was relatively light, and it was not intended for front-line combat. Instead, it was used primarily for reconnaissance and security missions, as well as for general transportation and supply.

Although the M20 was not as widely used as some other armored vehicles of the era, it saw service in a number of theaters of operation, including in North Africa, Italy, and Western Europe.

Today, a number of M20 Armored Cars can be found in museums and private collections around the world.
