Many of us have waited a long time for a quality kit of the Kfir, and Kinetic released a very fine example about a year ago. Though the kit is very detailed, of course there is always room for improvement and embellishment, so Aires has come up with a couple of offerings for this kit. One of these is a very nice set of highly detailed main and nose gear wheel wells. All together there are fifteen exquisitely detailed parts that include new doors and actuators for each of the wells. Both the main gear well and nose gear well include all of the plumbing that is inherent in those wells.

Packed in the normal Aires card and bubble pack are fifteen exquisitely detailed parts that include new doors and actuators for each of the wells. All are easily removed from their pour blocks. Both the main gear well and nose gear well include all of the plumbing that is inherent in those wells. The detail is typical high quality Aires. The installation of the main gear wells is rather involved, which includes the removal of the existing wheel wells from the lower wing half and removal of the detail from the roof of the wheel well. This is a complete wheel well replacement, so great care should be taken when doing so. As is usual in replacing a main gear well, be careful as you are thinning the upper surface of the Aires wheel well and do many trial fittings to ensure the upper and lower wing halves will close.

The nose gear well is much simpler, as it is a direct replacement for the three piece kit assembly

This set is a very nice addition for the Kinetic kit and will add a lot to the kit’s appearance.
