With the release of HK Models’ 1/32nd B-25, it didn't take longer for the aftermarket companies to step in and start producing detail sets. Profimodeller is one of these and they have come up with some really nice stuff. So far, they have released 9 different detail sets and all at a very reasonable cost. I have ordered the additional sets from Profimodeller's website and found it quite easy to use. They are very helpful in answering questions and quick to respond (please note the time difference, you are dealing with Czechoslovakia). I used Pay Pal for payment and received my goodies in a week.

This will be a "First Look"-type review. I will be building a B-25 and incorporate the set in the build, but it's going to take a while.

The nose gun detail set is a combination of photo, wire, wire rope, and photo etch. The photo part is a set of instruments for the bombardier station. The wire is for the windshield wiper on the nose of the plane, in front of the bomb site – really a neat little detail item. The wire rope is for the machine gun counter-balances that run throughout the compartment. These are a very noticeable detail and will only enhance the nose. The photo etch fills in the rest of the detail. I especially like the glass framing pieces that go on the clear parts. I also like the option of being able to open the bombardier’s escape hatch and having it detailed. This will open up the compartment and show off all the work you put in to it. The set will really dress up the details that HK already provides.

The instruction sheet is in English and I guess you can call it adequate. It is front and back on an 8x11 format. It is a little sketchy on placement of parts and how to bend the photo etch. Hopefully, when I get into the build, they will become easier to understand.

If you are going to buy any detail sets for the B-25, this would be the one I would rank number one on the list.

So far, I would highly recommend this set – inexpensive, and it should enhance an already detailed model kit. Many thanks go out to IPMS USA for giving me to opportunity to review this detail set and to Profimodeller for providing the detail set for us to review.
