Super Model International, published by Kagero, is a series of modeling magazines that focus on three to five build articles per issue. The magazines feature large high-quality photos, limited advertising and focus on the building, painting and or weathering process.

Issue number three has three build articles:

• 1/48 Tamiya D.520
• 1/32 Pacific Coast Models Hurricane Mk.1
• 1/32 Hobby Boss Spitfire Mk.Vb

There are three authors in this issue and a brief bio of each is presented on the back cover of the magazine.

The articles are all written in different styles, with each author choosing to highlight certain aspects of their particular models. The D.520 article has a focus on adding rivet detail and heavy weathering. The Hurricane Mk.1 article spotlights the building process and the associated issues with the Pacific Coast Models kit. The final article offers a brief history of the use of Spitfires in the air-sea rescue role. The author offers his insights as to why he chose an air-sea rescue aircraft and closes the introduction with his opinion of the Hobby Boss kit. This article is also a bit different in terms of format. The entire article, save for the introduction, is made up of photographs and captions. There is very little text as compared to the other pieces in the magazine.

If you are interested in large, high quality photos with limited advertising, this might be a magazine for you. If you want some inspiration, this might be the magazine for you. If you want step-by-step, in-depth build articles that cover almost every aspect of a model kit build, this isn’t the magazine for you.
