Quickboost has added a set of exhaust stacks to their line aftermarket parts for the new 1/32 scale Revell Spitfire Mk.II. The Quickboost set provides a pair of exhausts that feature detail that closely matches the kit-supplied parts. These parts accurately depict the flattened shape of the openings in the first two exhausts in each stack and the circular opening of the last one.

The Revell kit provides exhausts with open ends, however, they are comprised of four parts, and the modeler must clean flash from the openings of each exhaust port prior to assembly.

The Quickboost set may help speed up the build, as their exhausts are molded with the ends open, but do not require assembly of separate halves to achieve the open ends, nor do they require the modeler to clean up flash. The size and general shape of the Quickboost parts match the kit parts exactly so they are designed to be quick drop-in replacements with no further assembly or surgery to fuselage sides. Like other Quickboost parts, these are cast in a sturdy gray resin that is easy to work with. The parts come molded on a small casting block with sidebars to protect the parts. The parts must be carefully separated from the block with a razor saw or hobby knife. There is no flash so cleanup is simply a matter of using a fine grit sanding stick to smooth the edge where the parts are removed from the casting block. Because the material is resin, it is necessary to use superglue (CA) or epoxy cement to attach the Quickboost parts to the kit’s styrene plastic engine cowlings.

This set is highly recommended as a quick and easy way for a modeler to add accurate exhausts to the 1/32 scale Revell Spitfire Mk.II.
