Model Art Modeling Magazine, #878, October 2013
The feature article in October's issue covers modeling MBT's. The article starts off with the Tamiya 1/35th JGSDF Type 10. There are actually two more sections in this article that cover the Type 10. One is a build that was featured on Tamiya Live, and then a walk around. The other models used in the feature are the Xact 1/35th T-80U, Cyber-Hobby M48A3, Meng 1/35th AMX-30B, Tamiya M1A2 SEP TUSK II, Tamiya JGSDF Type 90, and Perfect Scale Modellbau 1/35th Leopard 1 Fruhe Baulose.
Following the feature are several short monthly run articles. One appears to feature a kit of 1/700th Russian Cruiser (had difficulty trying to get a translation). Next is modeling the JASDF. They finish up modeling the Hasegawa 1/72nd Mitsubishi F-1. The last of the monthly series is IJA/N Airplane Illustrated. This is an article that covers aiming devices through the use of color drawings or photographs.
Next is the New Kit Review. The models covered are the Fujimi 1/20th Ferrari 150 Italia, Trumpeter 1/48th HU-16A Albatross, Airfix Avro Lancaster B.III (special), Kinectic 1/48th Israeli Air Force Kfir C2/C7, Academy 1/350th USS Indianapolis CA-35, Aoshima 1/72nd JGSDF 31/2t Fuel Tank Vehicle for Aviation, and Doyusha 1/350th Hiroshima Castle.
Last up is Neo Historic Garage. This is also a monthly reoccurring article feature of mainly late 80's to early 90's cars. This month’s model is the Hasegawa 1/24th Toyota Celica GT Four RC.
The rest of the magazine covers future kit releases, decals, aftermarket parts, and ads for hobby shops.
In closing, I feel that these are great magazines. Yes, they may be in Japanese, but the photography is awesome. I have also discovered a translator app that I can use. There is a loss of translation but you can get the point.
I would like to thank Model Art and IPMS/USA for the opportunity to review this magazine.
