In all honesty, I grabbed this little gems to review before even cracking open the box on my new tool Revell Germany Ju 88A-4. Quickboost, yet again have produced replacement parts up to their normal high standards. Packaged in their standard orange plastic bag, you are provided with two pair of exhaust stacks in finely molded grey resin. No instructions are needed as the new parts will drop right into place. Pay close attention to the kit instructions as the exhaust stubs are asymmetric. Both the original kit parts as well as the Quickboost replacements can be installed in the wrong location.

After opening the bag the first thing I did was to set the Quickboost parts side by side with the kit parts. Boy, what a difference, despite the high quality of the Revell kit, the stock exhaust stubs were a bit of a letdown. I fully understand that at this scale, it is difficult to reproduce the exhaust stack openings. In fact, I accept that fact. Unfortunately, the kit parts to my eye lacked the detail I would have expected in 1/72 scale. Never fear, these Quickboost replacements will set that all straight.

To prepare my new parts for use, I removed the two protective end pieces from the pour stubs using my trusty razor saw. The resin parts were then gently scrubbed with a soft toothbrush and water and dish soap. After the parts were rinsed and dried, they were primed, painted and removed from the pour stubs. You can’t ask for an easier improvement to this kit.
