Three-Piece (3 pc) Bending Handle SetPublished:
The UMM three-piece (3 pc) bending handle set are molded in black cured resin for use in bending Photoetch brass, copper, aluminum and other malleable metal sheet. It is intended to avoid scratching the part or bending jig. These three handles are 90 mm long, 10 mm diameter and are tapered on one end in widths of 4, 5 and 6 mm. The narrow tips allow a specific feature or segment to be bent without disturbing surrounding areas not being bent. The ergonomic handle of each handle is 10 mm diameter with an rounded end opposite the tapered tip. The basic shape of these handles are similar to other UMM hand-held tools such as their earlier reviewed Shanked Reamer ( https://reviews.ipmsusa.org/review/micro… more |

RP-SR PE Step Roller ToolPublished:
The PE Step Roller Tool from RPToolz is 195 mm long and constructed of Eloxed Aluminum (dyed blue) for use in rolling Photoetch (PE) brass, copper, aluminum and other malleable metal sheet, wire, and some shapes. The Eloxed (electrochemically oxidized) process creates a hardened anodized surface to resist scratches and wear. The steps in the roller tool correspond to diameters of 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 15 and 20 mm. I found the tool capable of repeatedly making consistent-sized rings in wire and barrels in sheet. By wrapping the material to be rolled around the tool, the material will form a curvature based on the diameter of the rolling tool plus any spring back. The stiffer, and less malleable (or ductile) the material rolled, the greater the spring back once released… more |

U.S. Battleships 1939-45Published:
I would like to thank Casemate for my advance copy of this book, and to the IPMS Reviewer Corps to be able to provide this review. Foreword / IntroductionThe book covers battleship development with emphasis on US battleships and their operations in World War (WW) II. Only one chapter deals specifically to the WWII period 1939-45 listed in the title, but the stage is set for US battleships in WWII. Each successive US battleship class contributes to the awesome battleship armada the US put to war 1939-45. The book also follows US battleships following WWII (the cold war). Each successive class battleship is described in terms of: gun armament, armor, protection, displacement, propulsion and significant operational history. Chapter 1: Pre-dreadnought EraThese… more |

Fighting Ships of the US Navy 1883 - 2019, Volume Four, Part Two, Destroyers (1919 - 1937)Published:
This book provides a comprehensive encyclopedia of the US Navy Destroyers commissioned after WWI (from 1919 ) until just before WWII (to 1937). It includes primary reference data and relevant photographs of individual ships for each class of destroyers during this period. While photo captions provide brief stories and glimpses into the drama accompanying each ships’ maritime history, the paragraph text is rather perfunctory. These efficient descriptive paragraphs leave room for the rich photographic record included for each ship.
