Aero L-29 WheelsPublished:
The Czechoslovakian Aero Vodochody L-29 Delfin (NATO code Maya) became the standard jet trainer for the Warsaw Pact Air Forces. First flight was on April 5, 1959. Two-thirds of the over 3,000 aircraft manufactured have served with the Soviet Air Force as its standard basic, intermediate, and weapons platform trainer. The L-29 has seen combat in several wars, notably the 1973 Yom Kippur War and the Nigerian Civil War in the sixties. Many have been sold to the private sector with some performing in airshows and air races. This set is specifically designed for the AMK 1/48 L-29 kit. Of course it will work in the Eduard kit as well since Eduard used the AMK molds for the enhanced release. US Navy F-4 Phantom II Units of the Vietnam War 1969-73Published:
Peter E. Davies lives in Bristol, U.K. and as authored or co-authored at least twenty-seven books on modern American combat aircraft, many with Osprey Publishing. He was published by the Naval Institute Press in 1997 with his hardcover book, The Harrier Story, co-authored with Anthony M. Thornborough. His Schiffer Military History hard cover on the Gray Ghosts, U.S. Navy and Marine Corps F-4 Phantoms published in 2000 is considered a must have. Peter published a hardcover book with Crowood Press, North American F-100 Suber Sabre, in 2003. He has also covered many aircraft in Osprey’s Combat Aircraft series, Osprey’s Air Vanguard series, and Osprey’s Duel series. Operation Market Garden Paratroopers Vol. 3Published:
This tome appears to be Piotr Witkowski’s third book in English and it’s a follow up to Volume 2 of his Operational Market Garden Paratroopers that focused on small arms and specialized equipment used by 1st Independent Parachute Brigade. The positive feedback he received from Volume 1 and 2 encouraged him to get this volume published. You can find my reviews on Volume I and II at the IPMS USA Review website. I’ve found two prior books in Polish: Polskie jednostki powietrzno-desantowe na zachodzie (Bellona, 2009) and a second edition of this book titled: Spadochroniarze Sosabowskiego: Dzieje polskich jednostekpowietrznodesantowych 1939-1945 (Bellona, 2012). Mike founded the first horse archery club in California, the California Centaurs. You may have seen his work on the History Channel or on National Geographic. Richard Paul Hallion was born in Washington, D.C., on May 17, 1948. He graduated from the University of Maryland in 1970 with a B.A. and followed up with his Ph.D. in 1975, again from the University of Maryland. He was a curator of science and technology at the Smithsonian from 1974 to 1980. He has worked with the Air Force Flight Test (Edwards AFB), the Aeronautical Systems Division (Wright-Patterson AFB), the Army War College, and many other aeronautical institutions. Marco Mattioli was born January 1, 1966 in Rome. Marco has been interested in military history since he was a teenager. In 1992 he joined the Italian National Journalist Order, after which he was employed as a writer for several leading Italian history publishers.
