This resin set consist of ten parts. These wall supports are what you see on older brick buildings that holds the internal framing to the outside walls. They will also work of stucco exterior buildings.

These parts come separated and with very minimal clean up needed. I had to clean off some flash on a couple supports, maybe 5 minutes of work. There were air bubbles blemishes on three of the parts. Two has an air bubble on the end of the bolt and the “S” bracket had two bubbles on the S part of the support. I was able to fill these with a little super glue and sanded it smooth. The two in the bolt heads I left along, since they are hard to see.

I was really impressed with the detail on the star and the “H” u-channel support. I used a little blue tack to secure them to a plastic sheet for priming and painting.

These would be great for dioramas of any European city. They could be easily added to an existing kit or used as rubble.

Another in a long line of excellent turned metal (brass) items from Master Model; IPMS USA sincerely appreciates Master’s support of our reviewer corps!

Up front, Master provides turned-metal pitot probes for the excellent Airfix Javelin. This kit really needs these, as the probes go from robust, “fat” bases, to extremely thin probe fronts. And the kit items are usually bent right out of the box… Metal is the answer!

This package contains two turned metal probes in a double-bag system; first, the outer protective card with details on the contents, then an internal “small” bag with the scale, strong air data probes.

Installation: drill holes where required, in this case the existing air data mounts on the wingtips, and use superglue to install. Paint and be done!

Watch your eyes and other sensitive bits when working with these; they could cause serious damage for the careless…

Another in a long line of excellent turned metal (aluminum in this case) items from Master Model; IPMS USA sincerely appreciates Master’s support of our reviewer corps!

Once more Master provides a turned-metal pitot probe and Air-Refueling nozzle to replace the kit items; these are destined to satisfy our requirements for strength and accuracy.

This package contains two metal parts in a double-bag system; first, the outer protective card with details on the contents, then an internal “small” bag with the scale, strong pitot tube and Air refueling probe nozzle. As you can see by the pictures, these metal parts have far better detail than the kit items.

Hauler gives us one photo-etched sheet containing 66 wheels of four different sizes. Each size comes with a six spoke and a five spoke design. You get a set of three of each spoke design. Most have a round indentation in the center that can be drilled out to use a mounting point.

It is recommended to use a new blade to cut these off the sheet, since cleaning up the attachment point is very hard. These are so small and thin, I bent a few trying to cut of clean them up. I also found that gluing to a toothpick before cutting, helped to not damage them.

I left these glued to the toothpick and used photo-etched burnishing fluid to darken them.

These would work great in an open top artillery or self-propelled gun to replace some of the cranks on the guns laying drives. You could also use as half steering wheels by cutting off a couple of the spokes.

I would like to thanks Hauler and IPMS for the opportunity to reviews this product.

History

The Cape-class patrol boats were 95-foot (29 m) steel hull patrol boats of the United States Coast Guard with aluminum superstructures. They were unnamed until 1964, when they acquired names of US capes of land. Originally designed for anti-submarine warfare (ASW), all 36 boats in this class were built at the United States Coast Guard Yard in Curtis Bay, Maryland.

Kit

The kit is produced by Round 2 Models, a well-known company who bought the Lindberg Line and is re-issuing the kits in very colorful packaging. The box art work in outstanding! The scene depicts the cutter at high speed engaging an enemy submarine on the surface at dusk.

ModelArt magazine is a Japanese publication that covers all genres of plastic models. Besides its regular journal articles, it also has special books covering a single subject, in this case IJN Battleships between 1913 and 1945.

Be aware that the full book is in Japanese. There are some very limited English captions, however they are very useful as they list the type of weapon, ship name, timeframe, etc.

This book is divided in 3 main sections.

The first section deals with the weapons of the different battleships, from the heavy cannons in twin and triple turrets, to smaller guns and finally anti-aircraft weapons. Each weapon includes some line drawing(s), period pictures and also an assembled plastic replica, typically in 1/700 scale.

The second section includes photographic, step-by-step builds of the Nagato (in the 1927 and 1944 configurations), the Yamato, the Hyuga, the carrier ship Ise, the Kongo and the Fuso, all of them in 1/700 scale.

The PAC-3 Patriot is a surface-to-air missile system, whose primary purpose is to intercept ballistic missiles in the terminal phase of flight. This new offering from Aoshima is the first injection molded kit of the Patriot Missile system in 1/72 scale. The kit includes the Transporter Erector Launcher trailer, 4 missile containers, and an Isuzu Type 73 Heavy Truck. There are several options for displaying the model: you can display the TEL with outriggers up or down; the missile canisters can be stowed or ready to fire; the antenna can be in the raised or lowered position; or you can also show it firing a PAC-3 missile. One of the neat features of the kit is that it provides two full sets of outrigger legs and you do not glue the legs on, they are attached by poly caps. This means that if you are careful you should be able to swap out how you display the trailer.

Developed in the years following World War 2 to fulfill Naval Aviation’s “Heavy Attack” capability, the Douglas Aircraft design team under the legendary Ed Heinemann created the jet powered, swept winged A-3 (originally designated A3D-1) Skywarrior to carry nuclear destruction to the Soviet Union from the decks of the Navy’s new Midway class carriers. Replacing the little loved North American AJ Savage, what started out as a single purpose “heavy” bomber soon became one of the Navy’s most “multi-purpose” aircraft in its inventory. When its nuclear delivery mission was taken over by the A-5 Vigilante, the A-3 found itself with a new mission list that eventually included, “iron” bombing, aerial refueling, photo reconnaissance, electronic jamming and counter-measurers, electronic surveillance, high speed COD and VIP transport, and navigation training.

Thanks to Plus Model for sending this excellent and very unique diorama accessory from the Easy Line product series for review and thank you IPMS Reviewer Corps for letting me review it! I am very appreciative of the chance to contribute back to the scale-modeling community. I had a great time building a very well done “micro” kit that was nothing short of pure fun.
