Kagero has always had some first-class books with plenty of great reference profiles. This is the seventh in the series of their new series, Camouflage & Decals. This softbound book contains 40 pages of A4 format on high quality paper with profiles and some plan views of numerous airframes. The book is wrapped in a resealable baggie that protects the book and the decals from damage.

The book reads like a who’s who of the MiG family from the MiG-15 up to the MiG-21. There are plenty of Russian aircraft and since this is a Polish company there are a lot of Polish variants as well. There are 38 color profiles included in the book painted by Marcin Górecki. Many of those include four views to aid the modeler in getting it right. Besides the normal natural metal aircraft there are some acrobatic team and camouflage colored aircraft that are sure to please the paint palate of most modelers. The profiles are beautifully done with weathering applied and since they are on one page should you be so inclined you could remove the page and frame the aircraft of your choice. They are that nice.

Included with the book is a small decal sheet with marking options in 1/72nd and 1/48th scale of Russian stars and Polish checkerboards. They are different sizes but appear to be enough, depending on your subject, to do one complete Russian and one complete Polish aircraft. They appear to be in perfect register, thin and have good color saturation. They have a glossy finish. Always a bonus in Kagero’s books. I would have liked some of the aircraft unique artwork to be included but still this is a good offering.

The text in the book is in English and Polish but is limited to the aircraft type, unit (if known), and the date. Not a whole lot more to say.

If you are looking for something to inspire you to do a 1/48th or 1/72nd scale MiG-15, MiG-17, MiG-19 or MiG-21this book is for you. The quality of the artwork is first rate. Like I said you could cut this book up and frame the pages they are that nice. The addition of the decals is quite nice and always welcomed. Individual nose art and logos would have been nice to include, but even so the decals are first rate. Another winner of a book for Kagero.

Highly recommended
