AeroBonus is a specialized company from Aires that concentrates on Soviet wing stores. The latest release is a couple of air to ground rockets. Molded on four pour blocks with some exquisite detail, these unique looking rockets are quite impressive. There are two mold blocks with the rocket bodies. The other two are warheads on one and tail units on the other block. I really liked the rocket flutes on the tail which are petite and perfectly cast. Quickboost uses light grey resin that has no imperfections. Removal is easy and assembly will represent no problems, even to beginning resin users.

Also included in the Aerobonus releases are decals and, unfortunately, this is where the set is let down a little bit. Every version I’ve had the pleasure to review has had the decal stuck to the protective film. I recommend that, as soon as you get the set, you remove this paper. I’ve been able to save most of the decals that I’ve had, but some will require a clear coat to save the rest. It appears that the clear overcoat ink isn’t dry or melts onto the protective film. Whatever the reason, they stick to the paper, so use caution. You may be able to save them by just cutting them from the sheet and sticking them in water but I don’t know for sure. The decals are really nice once removed. The Soviet writing is perfectly executed and easy enough to read in this scale.

These rockets and the rest of the line are quite unique, especially in the West, and will add to the look of your MiG or Sukhoi. If you want to add some unique armament options, Aerobonus is the way to go.

Highly recommended with the reservations about the decals.

Thanks to Aires and IPMS/USA for the review copy.
