Box Top

This is a new tooling from Eduard and the detail in the new sprues is great.

In the box is:

  • 2 x light grey sprues
  • 1 clear sprue
  • 1 large decal sheet
  • 1 mask sheet
  • 2 x photoetch detail set
  • 1 instruction booklet

The kit consists of 2 main sprues, the sprues are extremely well molded with no flash and great detail; the decals allow you to finish the aircraft in five different markings to choose from.

First is the construction of the interior which is well detailed. Photo Etch helps a lot to make this a very impressive cockpit. You have to be very careful assembling the interior side frames (parts B51 and B52. As if they are not correctly line up it will lead to issues when installed in the fuselage halves.

Next you add the cockpit assembly to the lower wing. Then the additional cockpit details now get added

Next its adding details to the inside walls of the fuselage halves. Then the fuselage is assembled and attached to the lower wings. Here again you need to be very careful the installation is correct and no gaps. At this stage I did find that a gap is formed between A23 and the Fuselage which needs filling

The engine is the next assembly and this is fast and very nicely detailed.

Next the engine is installed, rear tail and wing flaps are added

The machine gun is added and rear flaps

The upper wing is next, I did find the lower pins on the struts (Part numbers A15, A14 and A13) were a little long to I cut them now to install better.

Now I added the very handy masks provided and did the painting of the main color, I selected to build the D scheme.

I did forget to I drilled the holes to allow for easier rigging later. So please remember as it will make it easier later.

Now I installed all the remaining details

Finally I added the remaining all decals and rigged the aircraft using EZ-line.

This was a fantastic kit and really fun to build, I highly recommend it.

Thanks go to Eduard for providing this kit to review and IPMS USA for allowing me to review it for them.
