This book, published by AMMO by Mig Jimenez SL, is a guide to the subject of colors and markings of German military vehicles and units. The books stated attempt is to bring order to the complex and partly unknown topics, and to provide clarity to all of the information available on the Internet. The book is divided into chapters that deal with the main themes separately
Chapter 1: The Ballenkreuz
Describes the beginnings, evolution, implementation, and use of the straight-armed cross used on almost all German vehicles. Colored illustrations of variations in the cross and black & white photographs are used to illustrate examples.
Chapter 2: Composition of Military Units
Explains the tactical symbols and hierarchy of military units. A color chart illustrates the Waffenfarbe (arm colors) used to differentiate troops.
Chapter 3: Markings
This chapter describes the markings, tactical symbols, divisional insignia, armored fighting vehicle numbering, license plates, and other markings. Color illustrations are used to describe the markings and symbols, and black & white photos show examples of the markings in use.
Chapter 4: Colors and Camouflages
This chapter relies on official documents and photographs to discuss colors and camouflage schemes for combat vehicles. The schemes are described using the variables of time, location, how all the colors are used, the color code, and names of colors in German and its English translation. A chart is provided at the end of the chapter to show color uses, RAL numbers, AMMO Mig Paint color numbers, and the color names.
Chapter 5: Zimmerit
The origins and applications of Zimmerit are described in color diagrams of the paste, and mostly black & white photos of vehicles with Zimmerit
Chapter 6: Ranks and Honors
This chapter uses black & white illustrations and photographs to illustrate the decorations used for German soldiers. A table is provided to show the designations of ranks and their English equivalent.
Chapter 7: Signaling
This chapter examines signaling methods using flags, semaphores, flags, and pennants, with colored illustrations and black & white photos.
Appendix A: Prices of Material
A table shows the value of various weapons and vehicles in 1943 costs.

Bibliography
Includes a selection of sources used by the authors that can be used for further reference.
This book provides a lot of detailed information about the colors and markings used on German vehicles and is a handy reference for modelers. The diagrams and charts provide data that can be used by modelers to improve the accuracy of their models. The book thoroughly describes the variations in markings and the photos help to illustrate their actual use.
