This book, published by AMMO by Mig Jimenez SL, is a guide to the subject of colors and markings of German military vehicles and units. The books stated attempt is to bring order to the complex and partly unknown topics, and to provide clarity to all of the information available on the Internet. The book is divided into chapters that deal with the main themes separately

Chapter 1: The Ballenkreuz

Describes the beginnings, evolution, implementation, and use of the straight-armed cross used on almost all German vehicles. Colored illustrations of variations in the cross and black & white photographs are used to illustrate examples.

Chapter 2: Composition of Military Units

Explains the tactical symbols and hierarchy of military units. A color chart illustrates the Waffenfarbe (arm colors) used to differentiate troops.

Chapter 3: Markings

This chapter describes the markings, tactical symbols, divisional insignia, armored fighting vehicle numbering, license plates, and other markings. Color illustrations are used to describe the markings and symbols, and black & white photos show examples of the markings in use.

Chapter 4: Colors and Camouflages

This chapter relies on official documents and photographs to discuss colors and camouflage schemes for combat vehicles. The schemes are described using the variables of time, location, how all the colors are used, the color code, and names of colors in German and its English translation. A chart is provided at the end of the chapter to show color uses, RAL numbers, AMMO Mig Paint color numbers, and the color names.

Chapter 5: Zimmerit

The origins and applications of Zimmerit are described in color diagrams of the paste, and mostly black & white photos of vehicles with Zimmerit

Chapter 6: Ranks and Honors

This chapter uses black & white illustrations and photographs to illustrate the decorations used for German soldiers. A table is provided to show the designations of ranks and their English equivalent.

Chapter 7: Signaling

This chapter examines signaling methods using flags, semaphores, flags, and pennants, with colored illustrations and black & white photos.

Appendix A: Prices of Material

A table shows the value of various weapons and vehicles in 1943 costs.
