AoA (Angle of Attack) decals: New on the block, and focusing on Marine Air … We sincerely appreciate this new decal manufacturer sending IPMS/USA their latest releases for review! (…and the usual thanks also to IPMS USA Reviewer corps leadership for sending these my way.. )

This sheet is a comprehensive delivery focusing on one Marine and one USAF Bronco with two different schemes operating out of Danang AB in South Vietnam. I utilized the Marine decals… NOTE! This sheet includes only the major airframe details for the two subject aircraft. From their website: “This small 1/32 decal sheet includes two Marine VMO-2 aircraft, one from 1969 and the other from 1970; and the USAF 20th TASS CO's "famous" shark-mouthed Lois Little, which can be depicted from different time periods in 1972 (although a third option is also possible). “

First off; what a great sheet! Second: the subject is really well researched. The sheet shows the later markings, where the entire wing was painted white on the top. As indicated in the sheet, later VMO-2 aircraft eventually did have the entire upper wing in white; however early aircraft (and also early VMO-6) had only a section of the wing in white - NOT the entire wing. This sheet reflects a very specific time showing just how good the research was conducted.

The USAF markings have a shark mouth for the nose, with aircrew names for the canopy frames. I did not use those…

The decals performed great. Even on partially glossed surfaces. No silvering, settled down, and maintained strength even when being handled. The walkway decal in particular was a test, as it was several inches long, did not tear, and moved about over a water bath on top of the wing.

The stenciling was readable under a magnifier, and in register. Cool…

All in all, a great effort… 10 of 10 for subject and performance, well done AoA decals! I fully expect we will see more from this company…
