Airscale Model Aircraft Enhancements’ tagline is “High resolution cockpit detailing for aircraft modellers” and this decal sheet is an excellent example of their philosophy. A compact 3 1/16 x 2 1/8 inch (54 x 80 mm) sheet is richly populated with a wide variety of high-resolution modern jet aircraft data plates and warnings. All decals have minimal carrier film.

Multiple copies of each decal are included. Six generic blocks of hazard stripes allow custom trimming for specific applications. Side-console labels, ejection seat and other danger and hazard warning plates are abundant. I particularly like the highly visible ejection seats warning. However, I believe the best decal details are the various smaller data plates, especially the striped warning blocks and rings that rim switches and other sensitive areas. The decals that surround a central switch or switch row, pitot tubes, static ports, etc., do not have carrier film in the decal center. This allows the decal to be dropped right over the feature without first cutting a hole in the decal. These decals are applicable to many areas of an aircraft, not just the cockpit.

A “Pilot’s Notes” insert describes the labels and some applications. Research will be important for proper use and placement of these decals. This is a general enhancement decal set, so in no way is the research suggestion a criticism.

Test decals worked very well with Microscale solutions and plain water. The decals are thin and durable, snugging down nicely without coaxing. I did not try stronger solutions like Solvaset, but I do not believe that such solutions would be needed.

I highly recommend these decals for making a modern jet look great. Airscale Model Aircraft Enhancements is focused on superb aircraft details and that focus shows in the quality of this decal sheet.
