The M41 Walker Bulldog was a light tank developed after World War II, going into service in 1955. While the US never took it into battle, a few of the countries it was exported to did, notably South Vietnam, where it was the main tank until they got M-48s.

This softcover book covers the subject in many full color detail photos and several drawings. If you are modeling one of these and want to know what the final drive adapter drain plug or the turret ammo storage area looks like, there are a picture or two included.

This book is ideal for all you super-detailers out there, and pretty much every square inch of the vehicle is covered. The pictures are all of several preserved/restored examples, so are pretty much in very clean condition.

The only issues I had with this book were many of the exterior shots of the OD painted version seemed very dark, making it hard for me to pick out the details. It looks like the lighting where they were taken may not have been the best. Other photos don't have this problem and the interior shots are fantastic. My only other bit of advice would be with some of the captions. There were differences between some of the versions of this tank and while the author advises you of them in the pictures, you aren't really sure which version the picture actually shows.

The book also includes 6 color profiles, some line drawings and the usual cover art done by Don Greer. I had to do a double take on the rear cover and at first glance I was sure it was a photograph.

So, if you are working on one of those 1/35th scale kits (can we please get an injection molded kit in 1/72nd?) and you want to go to town on it, this book will give you everything you need to make an award winner.
