Setail Set Parts

I recently have started to build jet aircraft and I’ve noticed something, pitot tubes typically stick out of the nose a significant amount. This causes an issue with bending or breakage. The other thing that I have had an issue is removing the part from sprue. It is a pain in the butt to get rid of the excess plastic and retain the round cross section. That doesn’t include the mold lines on the part. How do you deal with all that? Easy, turned metal barrels.

Master Model turns out some of the finest turned metal barrels out there. I’ve used them before and they fit and look amazing. This release designed for the newest Kfir kits by Kinetics, AMK or Wingmaster.

The parts are packaged on card stock with a zip lock plastic bag containing another self sealing plastic bag inside containing the actual parts. The bag contains two pieces of finely crafted machined brass. The main part is the pitot tube itself with its very distinctive bulge. It is perfectly formed with a small nub to fit into a .7mm hole you drill in the kit. The Angle of Attack probe is a tiny finely pointed piece of work. That is inserted in a 1.0 mm hole you drill on the left side of the fuselage.

The small instruction sheet explains the mounting procedure quite nicely. All you have to do is drill the holes, glue the new metal parts, and paint. Simple.

The metal barrel will provide your Kfir with a strong, scale thinness, proper shaped pitot tube and AOA probe. An easy to apply upgrade that will save you many hours of cursing as you move the kit around to the shows. This is another great pitot tube set from Master Model. The small price is quite worth the addition and peace of mind the turned brass will provide your Kfir.
